College

Tech

Prep:

http://www.ctpforme.com

What is CTP:  Cumberland County College Tech Prep (CTP) is a partnership between Cumberland County Schools and Fayetteville Technical Community College that enables high school students to earn college credits and gain work-based learning experiences in their career interests before graduating high school.  In today's high-tech environment, more and more careers demand the experience and training that come from a technical education system.  Students enrolled in CTP get a jump-start on their high-skill careers—opening the doors to higher wages and better advancement.

College Visitations:

The Guidance Department and the Administration of Cape Fear High School has adopted the following policy so that juniors and seniors have the opportunity to take care of business directly related to their plans after graduation without being counted absent.  Campus visitation days may be requested for specific, scheduled visits such as admission and scholarship interviews, financial aid appointment, military processing and interviews for full-time employment.  Just to go “look over the campus” without actually meeting with a school official is not justification for an approval campus visit.

If the following procedures are not followed, your visit will be coded as an unlawful absence.  No approved College Visitation will be allowed after April 30, 2012:

Complete the Campus Visitation Request Form, including your and your parent signature.

Submit the complete form to Ms. Ayars at least five school days before the scheduled visit.

On the morning following your visit, documentation from one of the school’s business office confirming your visit to the college must be submitted to Ms. Ayars.  Proof of visitation is available from most Admission Office, Business Office, Financial Aid or any other legitimate school office.  If such proof from a school office is not brought within two days of returning to Cape Fear, the absence will be coded unlawful.   (A campus visitation is considered a field trip, therefore there is no absence as long as proper documentation is presented.  Without sufficient documentation, it is considered an unlawful absence.)

Make arrangements with each teacher for make-up work and missed tests.

  Visitation forms available in guidance.
