Class Rules:
The county wide level system is a Contingency Plan used in all BED separate setting classrooms throughout Cumberland County Schools. The Contingency plan is based on a level system with points associated with each level in order to determine the success of a student regarding behavior on a daily basis. The levels are as follows:
ENTRY LEVEL (E)
SUCCESS DAY: 80 of 100 points (80% of possible points)
SUCCESS WEEK: 3 out of 5 success days each week
TIME PERIOD: 5 success days (not necessarily consecutive, so it may take 2 weeks)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
LIMITATIONS ------ PRIVILEGES:

SUCCESS WEEK: 4 out of 5 success days each week

LEVEL 2.5 (L 2.5)
SUCCESS DAY: 90 of 100 points (90% of possible points)
SUCCESS WEEK: 5 out of 5 success days each week

SUCCESS DAY: 95 of 100 points (95% of possible points)
SUCCESS WEEK: 5 out of 5 success days each week

LEVEL ZERO
DEFINITION: Temporary period of isolation in designated area of classroom(corner or carrel), during which the student is placed on a Level Zero contract and is not allowed to earn points or privileges until contract is completed.
The student will be placed in Level Zero for the following:
Serious offenses Fighting Destruction of property Stealing Disrespectful/rude (continued disrespect, rude behavior after teacher redirection) Non-compliance (continued non-compliance after teacher redirection) Truancy Threatening others (continued threats after teacher redirection)
After completion of the Level Zero contract resulting from a serious offense, the student will receive a drop of one-half level from his/her current level (i.e., from Level 2 to Level 1.5).
Rules of Level Zero
No talking Must raise hand for attention Cannot leave area without staff permission Lunch in isolated area of cafeteria Limited bathroom and water privileges Required restitution (may be in form of restitution letter) Student must complete a Level Zero contract No writing on, in, or near Level Zero cubby

WAYS TO LOSE A LEVEL
If you earn LEVEL ZERO for a serious offense. (drop back a half level, i.e. from Level 2 to Level 1.5)
If you are suspended from school. (drop back a whole level, i.e. from Level 2 to Level 1)
POINT SYSTEM

YOU MAY EARN UP TO A TOTAL OF 100 POSSIBLE POINTS IN A FULL DAY.
EACH INFRACTION PROHIBITS YOU FROM EARNING 2 POINTS IN THAT CLASS/TIME PERIOD.
ON SHORTENED DAYS OR DAYS WHEN A STUDENT CHECKS IN LATE, THE TOTAL WILL BE DETERMINED BASED ON THE PERCENTAGE OF POINTS EARNED TO POSSIBLE POINTS.
THE TEACHER, TEACHER ASSISTANT, SUBSTITUTE OR ADULT IN CHARGE WILL DOCUMENT BEHAVIORS ON A DAILY LOG.
